Product Overview
CM+ 5.2 extends Neuma's leadership position in several
key areas of Software Configuration Management and Product Management (SCM/PM).
- Small footprint and near-zero administration;
- Extremely high level of reliability, availability and
scalability;
- Rapid data navigation across integrated applications;
- Maturity of Change Package based CM process, for both very
small and very large projects;
- Process management and continuous improvement and
customization capabilities;
- Synchronous multi-site capability with full warm stand-by for
disaster recovery;
- Fail safe capabilities including full transaction journaling
and rapid project checkpointing and automated recovery.
Release 5.2 adds several dozen significant
new features, focusing on four main areas of improvement:
- Ease of use and increased navigation capabilities. The Windows tree browser
provides an instant, configurable tree navigator for all your hierarchical CM+
data. Context is applied automatically to all revision controlled objects so
the hierarchy reflects any structural changes that apply.
- Reduction in administration and customization. The administrator menu has
been expanded to support the most frequent admin functions. This includes
starting and stopping servers, maintaining licensing parameters, and creating
and registering new libraries. The process menu has been introduced to collect
various operations used to configure CM+ processes.
- Advanced CM capabilities and integration of CM with 3rd party
tools. Align, submit, get, build and make functions have all been enhanced in
release 5.2. Workspace management functions have been added giving the designer
powerful tools setup and maintain multiple development workspaces. CM+ now
integrates with any IDE or design tool that is compatible with Microsoft's Source
Code Control API, while maintaining support for change-package based change
control. These tools include Visual Studio and IBM Rational Rose. Also, CM+
Enterprise includes the Integrated Workspace Plug-in, providing seamless
interaction from the Windows Explorer.
- Introduction of new modules: Requirements Management and Document
Management. CM+ Requirements Management gives users the ability to enter,
organize, approve and report on all the requirements driving their software
development projects. Unlike other RM systems, requirements in CM+ are
configuration managed in two dimensions, providing parallel development streams
and baseline align and freeze operations. CM+ Document Management lets you
store all your project documents in an organized hierarchy.
